Archive for October, 2010
Last week Google announced Google TV which brings the TV, apps, search and the web together in one place.
As a result I believe the convergence between the Internet and television is going to trigger a change in the way that people consume media in the future, especially when you consider that all of the major television set manufacturers are now producing TV sets which are also web-enabled.
As you would expect YouTube (owned by Google) will play a major part in the success of Google TV as people view web sites and online videos though their television sets. With the ability for people to view recruitment videos on their smart enabled mobile phones, and now through their television sets, Google TV offers another opportunity for Recruiters to get their message across.
My view is that within the next 12-24 months online video will go mainstream and the introduction of services like Google TV will only help accelerate that timeframe.
Online Video Workshop
For those Recruiters interested in finding out more about the potential of online video (including Google TV) I am running a hands-on workshop on the 20th October.
By the end of the workshop attendees would have learnt:
• The different types of equipment to use
• How to shoot their own video
• How to edit the video with their company details
• How to set up their own YouTube channel
• How to publish video on their own web site and distribute it across the web
The workshop also includes a practical hands-on session where attendees can create their own three minute video.
Full details of the workshop can be found at: http://www.videoinrecruitmentworkshop.com
